Haze Mobile ("the app") is an anonymous, end-to-end encrypted chat client that communicates over the Tor network. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.
The developer operates no backend servers and collects no data from users. There is nothing to share with third parties because nothing is received.
None. The developer does not receive, store, or process any personal data, message content, metadata, usage statistics, crash reports, or device identifiers. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no telemetry of any kind in the app.
To join a chat you enter a .onion address and an optional session password. These are used solely to establish an encrypted connection directly to the chat host — they are not sent to us.
Messages, typing indicators, and files are exchanged directly between participants through Tor onion services, end-to-end encrypted with X25519 + ChaCha20-Poly1305. Only people who know the onion address and session password can connect — there is no public directory or stranger discovery.
The session encryption key exists only in RAM and is wiped on disconnect. No message content is ever written to disk by the app.
Saved sessions (Vault): If you choose to save a conversation, it is encrypted with a password you provide and stored locally on your device only. It is never uploaded anywhere. You can delete it at any time from within the app.
The app sets allowBackup="false", so your data is excluded from Android's cloud backup.
The app uses the Tor network for transport anonymity. Tor is an open-source anonymity network; its privacy policy is available at torproject.org. No other third-party service, SDK, or API is used.
The app is not directed to children under 13 and collects no data from anyone of any age.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
